Don Rice Bar is a traditional donburi concept with a modern twist. “Don” is short for donburi, a word for a rice bowl. For founder Chef Nathan Asamoto, the idea began at home. Growing up in a Japanese American family, he was surrounded by the aromas and tastes of Japanese comfort food. Rice bowls were a staple at the household table and remain one of his favorite things to eat.
